The app is made by Toy Tokyo, 91 Second Avenue, New York, NY 10003. This page says what it holds, where that sits, and how to have it removed. It is short because the app collects little.
What the app does not do
- No analytics, and no tracking of any kind. There is no advertising identifier and no third-party measurement code in the app.
- Nothing is sold, rented or shared with anyone for marketing.
- No payment is taken in the app, so no card details exist.
What is stored, and why
A device identifier. On first launch the app creates an anonymous account so your collection has somewhere to live. It contains no personal information and is not linked to you unless you sign in.
Your collection. The pieces you mark owned or wanted, and for each one — condition, dates, notes, and what you paid. This is the most personal thing the app holds. It is visible to you alone. It is never shown to other users, never used to price anything, and never shared with anyone.
Your photographs stay on this phone. Pictures you attach to a piece are read from your library and kept on the device. Only a reference to them is stored with the entry, which means they do not appear on another device even if you sign in there.
If you sign in with Apple — your name and the email address Apple provides, which may be a private relay address if you chose to hide it. Signing in is optional; everything in the app works without it. Its only purpose is to keep your collection if you lose or replace the phone.
Inquiries. The name, email, optional phone number and message you send. These go to Toy Tokyo so we can reply, and are kept with the conversation.
Photographs you take to identify a piece are not kept. The picture is sent to our service, converted into a numeric description used to find visual matches, and discarded. It is never written to disk, never stored, and never seen by a person.
Camera and photo access
The camera is used only while you are identifying a piece. Photo library access is used only when you attach a picture to something in your collection. Neither is accessed at any other time.
Where it is held
Collection records and account data are held in Google Firebase (authentication and Firestore) on servers in the United States. Identification runs on Google Cloud Run. Apple handles Sign in with Apple and gives us only your name and email address. These providers process data on our instructions and for no purpose of their own.
How long, and how to remove it
Your collection is kept until you delete it. To remove everything, open About in the app and choose Delete account. That removes the account, the collection, the notes, the prices and the references to your photographs. It is immediate and cannot be undone.
You can also write to sales@toytokyo.com from the address you signed in with and we will do it for you. To ask what is held about you, or to have it corrected, use the same address.
Inquiry threads are business correspondence and are kept for our records unless you ask us to remove them.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date above. Material changes will be noted in the app.
